Union Millwrights are experts in the installation and maintenance of all types and sizes of industrial equipment, machinery and instrumentation. It is a highly technical field requiring a large degree of precision. Millwrights assemble and install pumps, compressors, conveyors, and generators, as well as robotics used in scientific, automotive, food processing, power generation and bulk material handling industries.

Education prerequisitesHigh School Graduate, GED or equivalent desired or
6 months full time work experience in a construction
related trade, or Graduated from an approved
pre-apprenticeship program.
One year of Algebra with passing grade.

Applications: Mon. thru Fri. 8 am to 5 pm @ all Carpenters Training Committee District Offices. Office closed 12 to 1 pm daily. Applications may be printed online or picked up at any Carpenters Local Union Office, Apprentice Training Center or Employment Development Department in your area.

How do new apprentices get their first job? Applicants are placed on a list. When new apprentices are needed, applicants are taken from the top of the list
